Though he may not even land on an NFL roster, Zachary Woods, a defensive back from Ole Miss, is officially the fastest player coming into the 2019 draft. His honest-to-god 40 Time? A blazing 4.29!

However, According to experts, the NFL-hopeful was facing a 50-50 chance of making an NFL roster before April. Perhaps his unbelievable athletic performance has increased his odds (if only Just a bit).

Zedrick Woods won't be the No. 1 overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft, but he is No. 1 overall at the 2019 NFL Combine.

The Ole Miss defensive back posted the fastest 40-yard dash time of the combine during drills on Monday. Woods, a former 247Sports Composite three-star recruit, clocked in at 4.29 seconds. The time was just enough to beat out Auburn defensive back Jamel Dean, who ran the 40-yard dash in 4.30 seconds.

The remainder of the best seven 40 times belonged to wide receivers. Parris Campbell (Ohio State) and Andy Isabella (UMass) put up a time of 4.31 seconds. Georgia wideout Mecole Hardman and Ole Miss receiver D.K. Metcalf ran the 40 in 4.33 seconds, while Terry McLaurin, another Buckeyes receiver, had the next closest time at 4.35 seconds.

Woods' 40-yard-dash performance may help his NFL draft stock in April. Prior to the combine, NFL.com graded the Ole Miss safety with a grade of 4.90, which translates to a "50-50 Chance to make NFL roster."

"Three-year starter with decent size but too far below the threshold with his athletic movements, instincts and recovery speed," the NFL.com overview on Woods says. "Woods is a willing combatant when playing near the line of scrimmage, but he's simply not talented enough in coverage and lacking in instincts to play over the top. To make a roster, he will need to shine on special teams and play lights out as a tackler in the box."

With his finish in the 40-yard dash, Woods may have at least addressed the concerns as it relates to his speed.
